Earthquakes continually pose as a threat to filipino, and have been part of the filipino consciousness due to its prevalencein the past decades. Small or low intensity earthquakes occur in different arts of the Philipines everyday, while larger earthquakes have made its mark in Philippine history and memory due to its devastating impact economically and socially to the communities affected. Earthquakes sometimes induce foreshocks. These are light shaking of ground that happen in the same site where a stronger earthquake follows. However, it is difficult to identify foreshocks until stronger earthquakes happen.
